Mr.s Mullinix has been working here at AAHS for almost a decade! With her time here, she has taught hundreds of students how to use multiple digital programs and how to express you creative ideas freely. Although she’s been here for years, not many people know about here life not only as a teacher, but before teaching here at AAHS.

Mrs. Mullinix has been here for a good chunk of time, sharing her technological experiences and teaching students how to understand multiple softwares. She teaches over 8 classes and helps any students who may have questions.

“She teaches animation 1-4, graphic design 1-2, photography 1-2, commercial arts, Kadet Tv 1-4,” senior Peter Patchen said.

After taking all these classes, students and teachers can share how Mrs. Mullinix is as a teacher and where her priorities lie.

“I’d say she’s a friendly teacher, but she also expects work to get done. She’s pretty experienced in all the programs that we use in the classes, so she can actually yeach the class and you can actually take stuff away from those classes,” Patchen shared.

“I think she’s done a fantastic job. She has got her certificate in Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator which now you guys can get colleg credit for that and that was a lot of work to get that certification. She came to this position with a lot of real world experience, she was a graphic designer. That is fantastic and very reare,” Chair of the Digital Media Department Jonny’O said.

Mrs. Mullinix has had experience as a teacher for 13 years, but before she was a teacher, she had a job as a graphic designer.

“I believe this is my 13th year teaching. I tought in douglas county and then I taught in a private school. So I tought in a private school and then I taught at Douglad County and then here, so I’ve been teaching I think 13 years. But priar to being a teacher, I was a graphic designer. So I did everything from a small print shop to working at a company that was an international company. And then I went to work for a national company that was founded in Denver and then when they were sold to another company, I got the opportunity to take that time to go back to school to become a teacher! But I was a graphic designer,” Mrs. Mullix explained.

With all of the experience Mrs. Mullinix has, she has one crucial piece of advice to all the students here at AAHS.

“I think my biggest advice is don’t be afraid to try something new. You never know what’s gonna click with you, something that you never knew. I started off in teachers college in College and I got afraid and I didnt go into teaching and then later in life I went, ‘I think I want to be a teacher’. So I did become a teacher but I, you know, I could have been a teacher for 30 years if I had gone with my first gut instinct, but you don’t until you try different things. Don’t be afraid to take a class, to do your best, learn something. It may end there or it could open a whole new door,” Mrs. Mullinix.

Mrs. Mullinix is an incredibly talented teacher who offers a wide variety of classes. If anyone is at all curious about digital media or just wants to try something new, take one of her amazing classes!
