It’s the most wonderful time of the year… but for many, these 5 place are pure heaven, especially during the most exciting time of the year, the holidays! During the Christmas time I imagine my family spread around a big table that is covered with all our favorite foods. I think of snuggling up in a blanket and watching a movie as snow falls outside… but for some, their image of the holidays consists of travel. The 5 most popular places in the world to travel during the holidays include…

New York, New York– Central park is packed with tourist craving a holiday experience in the city. New York has a light show with cookie decorating for thousands. Hot cocoa is given out and chefs all from around the city build giant gingerbread houses! During Christmas time in Times Square a concert filled with our favorite artists singing Christmas songs attracts many people to New York as well.

Rome, Italy– Even though Rome is known for its amazing architecture, holidays in Italy consist of children singing Christmas carols around the city, and of course real life nativity scenes served with hot drinks and food.

Munich, Germany– Germany is known for having a “St. Nicholas” day instead of “Christmas,” but that definitely doesn’t make it less special. St. Nicholas is known as the “Santa” for the children. St. Nicholas travels by donkey in the middle of the night to deliver thousands of treats like coins, chocolate, oranges, and toys for the children!

London, England– During the holidays, London celebrates by having a holiday cup of tea. It is held among the best stores for a unique celebration. Like America, London sits all together and opens presents under the Christmas tree!

Colorado Springs, Colorado– Even though there are many other places to travel during the holidays, there is nothing like picking out a tree, planning a special holiday meal with your family and friends, and enjoying the parade all under the shadow of Pikes Peak!

Everyone enjoys the holidays in different ways, even if that means sitting by a beach on Christmas day, enjoying tea in London, or sitting in Colorado Springs with the company of your own home, a holiday is always spent well!
