The World is Going to End

According to several groups across the United States, the apocalypse is nigh. This statement has been flying around for several years, beginning in 66 A.D. More recently, the Mayan calendar predicted the end of the world on December 21, 2012. As that has clearly not yet happened, more people have come up with some unique theories and, although the mythology often varies, these are three popular and current theories.

  1. A solar eclipse that will spread across 12 states is predicted for August 21, 2017. This eclipse is the first to travel from coast to coast, and some say it’s a harbinger of the apocalypse. In this scenario, some believe a woman wearing the sun will come to earth hunted by a seven-headed satanic dragon. This dragon will destroy the world then be defeated by an army of angels.
  2. September 23, 2017, marks another major astrological event, in which the sun will be behind the constellation Virgo and the moon will be below it. According to several theorists citing the book of revelations, this marks the end of times. This theory has many similarities with the August 21 end date of the world; however, it states that the constellation Virgo is the woman who will bring with her the apocalypse.
  3. The sun will expand and engulf the Earth, Mercury, and Venus in approximately 4,500,000,000 A.D as the sun will become a red giant and burn up all of the hydrogen in its core.

These three theories are only a drop in the ocean in the world of conspiracies and many theorist have their own ideas on the inevitable end of the world. Fellow Kadet and conspiracy theorist Alex Hornsey doesn’t believe these theories, but does believe that if any theory is most likely, it will be the rapture. Although no one knows if any of these theories are true, the truth must be out there.
