Forget the traditional gingerbread cookies and peppermint hot chocolates, a new era of holiday flavors is upon us. This holiday season, a variety of companies have taken creativity to a whole new level with these holiday-inspired concoctions. Ranging from beverages to yogurts, energy bars to crackers to chips, and desserts to candy, the variation of seasonal-infused goods is practically endless.

Starting off your morning with a boring, plain cup of jo is no longer a concern, as Starbucks and Dunkin’ Donuts have released new, festive flavors for the 2014 holiday season. For the first time in five years, Starbucks introduced their newest holiday beverage, the Chestnut Praline Latte, in addition to the returning favorites: the Peppermint Mocha, the Caramel Brulee Latte, the Gingerbread Latte, and the Eggnog Latte. The french-inspired drink consists of espresso, steamed milk, a combination of caramelized flavors and warm spices, topped with whipped cream and praline crumbs, surely crafted to give the other Starbucks beverages a bit of competition. One of Starbucks’ competitors, Dunkin’ Donuts, on the other hand, released two cookie-flavored coffees. The Sugar Cookie Latte and the Snickerdoodle Cookie Latte, both offered as hot and iced beverages, take a new approach on a classic favorite. The Sugar Cookie Latte offers the taste of a sweet, soft cookie, topped with whipped cream and festive green and red sprinkles. The Snickerdoodle Cookie Latte unites the delicious taste of sugar with spicy cinnamon and is topped with actual cinnamon spice.

Transitioning to the edible side of the holiday flavors, Yoplait Yogurt introduced two new limited edition flavors: Peppermint Bark and Mocha Mint. For breakfast or a snack, both flavors are less than 150 calories, and offer a nutritious take on a holiday classic.

The seasonal Clif Bar flavors hit the shelves in November. The energy bars, designed to fuel long workouts and sustain energy, are now offered in Iced Gingerbread, Spiced Pumpkin Pie, and Pecan Pie. A portion of the proceeds from the bars goes to benefit the  Protect Our Winter fund, more of a reason to purchase the delicious holiday bars.

On the less nutritious side, Pringles announced three new flavors for the holiday season. White Chocolate, Milk Chocolate, and Cinnamon and Sugar, are the newest Pringles creations. As odd as the combinations may appear, who could resist a Pringle, no matter what the flavor?

Pretzel Crisps launched their holiday combinations of Dark Chocolate Peppermint pretzels and White Chocolate Peppermint pretzels. Perfect as a snack, an appetizer for a party, a small indulgence, or even the ideal blend of sweet and salty, these treats are perfect for the winter season.

The last major flavor reveal of the 2014 season was the Triscuit Cranberry and Sage cracker. The Triscuit Cranberry and Sage flavored-cracker makes the sublime appetizer, topped with cream cheese and a cranberry; guests will be devouring them all night!

As if avoiding weight-gain during the holiday season wasn’t hard enough, these delicious creations make it just that much harder! Then again, life is too short to deprive oneself of Chestnut Praline Lattes and White Chocolate Pringles, after all, tis’ the season  to consume and indulge without reason.
