Thanksgiving is a time where you can solely focus on appreciating all you have. You should always learn to be thankful, but this specific holiday allows you the opportunity to give thanks. Other than the simple necessities that we should forever be grateful for, here is a list of forgotten blessings in your life that you should be thankful for.

  1. Nature

We often forget the simple beauties that lay in our world. It’s the simple things to be thankful for this holiday season. Being aware of the natural beauties will help you appreciate the simple things in life, and help you not get hung up on all the materialistic products in our lives.

  1. Laughter

Laughter is literally the best form of medicine and is one of the most popular gifts that we forget about. Laughing shifts your perspective on all different situations; it changes our attitudes about different things in our society. This Thanksgiving, we need to remember not to forget this amazing gift that has been given to us.

  1. Siblings

Even though most teenagers today think negatively of their siblings, siblings are family and will stick with you throughout your life. Our siblings are evidence of true friends that will stick with you through thick and thin, despite all arguments and issues that may arise. For this holiday season, taking a moment to appreciate your siblings could shift your perspective and change your relationship with them forever.

  1. Everyday Struggles

While we think of everyday struggles to be negative and possibly the worst thing that could ever happen to us, we need to learn to appreciate them. Without our struggles, we would have no purpose to get out of bed in the morning, no determination. Through our issues, we learn the determination that drives us forward, that causes us to be mature. This Thanksgiving season, let’s learn to not get upset with our struggles but to embrace them to make us a better person.

  1.  Time

Often times, we think we don’t have enough of it. This Thanksgiving season, we should learn to be present and in the now. Our minds tend to escape into their own world and we begin to be consumed by our worries that lie before us. Learning to be present in every situation will help relieve stress within our lives.

  1.  Opportunity to Learn

Although this is one of the major topics that teenagers complain about, school gives us opportunities that we will never forget. This place teaches us the many topics of this world; it teaches us the kind of people who we are going to be for the rest of our lives. Also, we take for granted learning new things. These things help make us grow into smarter human beings.

  1. People’s Kindness

Usually, when we come across a person who says or does something nice for us, we don’t think much of it. This holiday season, let’s come to stop and appreciate people’s generosity. By taking in this simple gesture, it has the power to shift our perspective throughout the day and cause our day to be brighter. As a result, we should continue to pass on the love.

This Thanksgiving season, take the time to remember the simple treasures in life. By doing this, it will help cause you to appreciate the things we tend to take for granted in this world.
