One of the best ways to have a positive and enjoyable four years in high school is to get involved in one of the several clubs that Air Academy High School offers. A beneficial club that is simultaneously growing and encouraging  new members to join is called Kadet Krazies.  Kadet Krazies boosts school spirit and supports sports teams.  It is all about supporting our fellow classmates and representing our school in fun ways.  For instance, they dress up at games and chant positive cheers.

“We work to encourage a lively and positive environment at games and have a lot of silly fun in the process,” stated club director Rachel Cullen.

Cullen encourages all students to get involved with this club, as it is low-key and embraces the school through its name.  A lot of people think clubs are a big commitment and that it requires presence during every event. Yet, at Kadet Krazies they understand the busy life of students and understand that we can’t make it to every single sports game.

Cullen also stated, “Students have a lot of stressors both in school and outside of school, and this club basically functions as happy, stress-free play time, students just show up to the events they are able to. There are no penalties for missing an event. It’s just about our student body uniting as one to cheer our sports teams on.”

One of the best ways to make a sports team feel like they can defeat their opponents is by having a large group of students behind them, cheering and screaming for the better of Air Academy.

“I believe Kadet Krazies is a great way to get everyone hyped up at sports events and it encourages people to show up to games,” said junior Avery Rodny.

Thanks to Kadet Krazies we will always have some students participating and cheering at games. This encourages the players to win and know that they have a whole group of people who support them.

“I am a part of Kadet Krazies because I like to get involved and support my fellow classmates. It feels good knowing this is another way I am contributing to my school,” said sophomore Kendal Smith.

This club gives students a sense of belonging in the school and provides events that they can look forward to.  This club also prepares students for leadership roles and shows them how to make a positive contribution to their community.

One specific example of Kadet Krazies having fun at games is students throwing free Kadet T-shirts into the crowd, making the spirit boost.

“I would personally like to join this club, it really makes sports games more enjoyable because we have cheers and fun ways of encouragement to our classmates,” stated sophomore Jake Stinson.

Joining this club requires a few steps, you just need to take $15 to bookkeeping and bring the receipt to Cullen in room 413.  The $15 goes towards a shirt that gets you into the Kadet Krazies game of the week free. This is one of the best ways to get involved at our school and have fun while doing it.

This club represents our school, classmates and sports teams while molding young leaders.
