It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas! 10 days and Christmas will be here, and ’tis the season to find the perfect gift for everyone. In order to find the perfect gift, you have to think of the person you are planning on getting a gift for and what they like and dislike. No one likes receiving a gift that they hate and having to pretend they love it, so don’t be the one to give the worst gift this Christmas.

What happens if you don’t know the person very well? How do you make the perfect gift absolutely perfect without asking the person exactly what they want? Some classic and safe gifts to give are…

  • Gift Cards to clothing stores or movie theaters
  • Sweet treats like candy bars, desserts, or Christmas related candy, such as candy canes
  • A written letter showing your appreciation for them
  • If you know their shoe size: boots, or other shoes, and throw in the receipt in case they would like to exchange the gift
  • Board games
  • Jewelry if you notice they wear necklaces, bracelets, or earrings
  • Make a donation in their name to a cause they support
  • iTunes gift cards
  • Candles

Sometimes, you need to give a person more creative gifts if you want them to remember your gift as unique and original. Maybe a gag gift is a perfect gift. In this case, some ideas for gifts are…

  • A funny Christmas card
  • A jar full of memorable items and notes
  • A small pet like a hamster or turtle
  • Decorative house items that have a personal meaning
  • An important picture in a frame
  • A photo album
  • Ticket to see their favorite singer/band in concert

Air Academy Junior Lilly Hamilton says, “It doesn’t matter what the gift is as long as the person giving it shows effort and thoughtfulness.”

Air Academy Sophomore Calvin Banta gives some advice on the perfect gift: “Don’t get the gift the day before Christmas or else it probably won’t be the perfect gift. But no matter what you give, as long as you put the gift receipt in the box, you can never go wrong.”

Air Academy’s freshman Matthew Mettler explains, “Christmas is a great time of the year. Giving the gifts are more important that receiving the gifts. Just put thought into a gift and it will be a great Christmas.”

Christmas is an amazing time of the year. With excitement and joy filling the air, it’s no wonder why people all around the globe stress to find the perfect gift. As long as you give from your heart and keep the other person’s wants above your own, you can’t go wrong in choosing the perfect gift this holiday season.
