The Top 6 Best Dates for this Winter Season
Snow is falling and love is in the air; as the weather is starting to change here in the Springs, all you lovers out there might be wondering what to do now. Well, I am here to inform you of all the romantic and interactive date night ideas for this winter season to help keep your love booming.
1.) Ice Skating
A classic date in the midst of winter, allowing for small talk, hand holding, and maybe a little falling and laughing, depending on your skill level. It’s a great way to get to know someone on a first date or a fun way for the veteran couples to get out and spice their date night up a little. The outdoor ice skating rink in downtown Colorado Springs sets the mood just right with its cute little small town feel. Sertich indoor ice rink is a warmer option but still a great place to bring the girlfriend or boyfriend and show them your skills, maybe even have a competition on who can skate faster if you’re up for it, winner gets a kiss.
2.) Parade of Lights
The annual Parade of Lights, on December 3rd this year at 5:30 PM in Downtown Colorado Springs, is a fun way to get in the Christmas spirit together. All snuggled up close, enjoying all the magnificent floats, with a hot cocoa in hand. A fun and whimsical date that doesn’t break your bank (because it’s free) but gets you and your significant other out to enjoy all the lights.
3.) Taking a Stroll Around the Broadmoor
From the giant gingerbread house, breathtaking Christmas trees, and the adorable pond, the Broadmoor makes for an intimate evening of fun. Taking a stroll around the pond hand in hand, stopping to admire the beautiful scenery on one of the benches, and of course taking the obligatory cute couple pic, maybe even stop under the mistletoe on your way out!
4.) Decorate Gingerbread Houses
Get those creative juices flowing and have some fun decorating your dream house… well, your dream gingerbread house! This date, being more light hearted than most, allows the both of you to get in touch with your inner child while still enjoying one another’s company.
5.) The Classic Movie Date
As cliché as this date seems, during the winter season it’s nice to just sit in the warmth and enjoy a good movie with some good company. Whether it be watching your favorite movie all cozied up with your significant other on the couch at home or venturing out to the movie theater with some buttery popcorn wrapped up in the comfort of your partner’s arm, this date is always a great idea.
6.) Going Sledding
Bust out the ole’ sled and head on over to your neighborhood hill for a blast. Sledding is a great way to hold your partner tight while zooming down a gnarly hill. A free activity that’s entertaining yet romantic that doubles as a workout from walking back up that hill, it’s a win-win situation for everyone.
Don’t be afraid to brave the cold this winter season, make your significant other keep you warm while you venture out. Also mix it up every now and then, keep it casual yet romantic with staying in while enjoying each other’s company. Love is in the air, trickling down like snow upon us this winter. Embrace and love the love.
