Slip ‘N Slide into Summer
One of the best parts of being a kid during the summer time is being able to drag the Slip ‘N Slide out of the garage to create a miniature water park with your friends. This summer, people are being given the opportunity to be kids again, by visiting a giant, 2-lane Slip ‘N Slide ride that’s 1,000 feet long.
The ride will be set up in Boulder on July 18th and in Colorado Springs on August 29th. The length of the ride will cover about 3 blocks, which is 62 times the length of the average Slip ‘N Slide kids use. Although it’s too early to sign up for the event taking place in Colorado Springs, registration is now open for the ride when it’s in Boulder. Prices start at $15 for a single ride, $30 for three rides and $50 for an all-you-can-slide pass. Children under 5 won’t be able to go on the ride. The slide will also be padded to help prevent riders from getting hurt.
This event, appropriately called “Slide the City,” will feature live music, food, drinks, and lots of water. To sign up, visit http://www.slidethecity.com/. It’ll be a great opportunity to get together with all your friends, and a perfect way to end the summer.
Another fun summer attraction of 2015 is the Hanuman Festival. The Hanuman Festival is a three day long festival in Boulder Colorado where hundreds of people will gather to practice yoga. Over the span of three days, there will be a variety of different yoga classes to take, and live music throughout the festival. The mission of the Hanuman Festival is “To present a community driven yoga festival where a diverse audience has an opportunity to experience the many aspects of yoga and how it can positively impact individuals, community and the world.” And of course, to learn more about the Hindu monkey God Hanuman. To learn more, visit http://www.hanumanfestival.com/. To learn more about other attractions coming to Colorado this summer, visit http://www.colorado.com/summer-activities.
Happy summer Kadets!
