“Omaha Omaha! Hurry hurry!” The famous voice behind this electric call is the man himself, Peyton Manning. From Colt to Bronco, Manning shattered records this NFL season; the first week alone he threw seven touchdowns against the Baltimore Ravens, tying the NFL record. His second season with the Broncos has been an amazing one, leading him to win his 5th MVP. In their 2013-2014 season, the Broncos scored 606 points, breaking the record of 589, which was set by the New England Patriots in 2007. In Manning’s second week, he joined Brett Favre and Dan Marino as the only players in NFL history to throw over 60,000 yards. In his fourth week, Manning led the Broncos to 52 points, which was a franchise record. Peyton Manning’s following weeks went as followed:

WEEK 5: Manning threw his first interception. He had already racked up 20 touchdowns to that point.

WEEK 8: Manning threw 3 interceptions.

WEEK 11: Manning was virtually untouched in the 27-17 win over the, then-undefeated, Chiefs.

WEEK 13: Manning threw five touch downs, shattering Denver’s franchise record of 37 touchdown passes. Four of the passes were to Eric Decker.

WEEK 16: Manning breaks the NFL record with his 51st touchdown pass, which was previously held by Tom Brady.

WEEK 17: Manning breaks the passing yardage record by exactly one yard, 5477 on the season. He also extends his touchdown record to 55. His record of 55 touchdowns shattered Tom Brady’s record of 50.

These records are not the only ones snuggled in Peyton’s repertoire. He destroyed the record for the “Most four-touchdown passing games,” with his record of nine such games this season. Previously the record was six, set by Dan Marino in 1984; Manning also tied it in 2004. Peyton Manning alone has set over 14 records. Manning has also led the Broncos team to franchise records. In this past season, the Broncos ran 1156 plays, beating their franchise high of 1152. Along with besting this franchise record, the Denver Broncos set six more records including: points in a game, regular season winning percentage, coach, first downs, yards, etc. Yet, their amazing season screeched to a halt at the Super Bowl. The Broncos faced a devastating loss against the Seahawks, 43-8 (Seahawks scored two points in the first 12 seconds due to a safety). But, the Seahawks have to give some thanks to Peyton Manning. When Russell Wilson was in 10th grade he attended Peyton’s football camp and trained under the legend himself. Russell admits that Peyton Manning is an “example to follow.” A silver lining for Peyton after this heart-breaking loss is that he broke another record, the number of completions thrown-33.

So, where are all these Bronco fans coming from? Omaha.
