Athletes Of The Month
Our Female athlete of the month is senior rock climber Sophia Bowen. Sophia has been rock climbing for 4 years and has proven herself to be a great competitor as well as a leader on the climbing team. In the last two High School comps Sophia has taken first place by a long shot. She did so well that in the first competition she would have placed 2nd overall beating out 23 boy and 17 girl competitors. When asked about her goals for the future and what she likes about climbing Sophia said, “I like climbing because I have met so many great people through the climbing community and there is always a new challenge. This year my goal is to place in the top three at the high school state competition and make it to divisionals in the USA youth climbing series.”

Our male athlete of the month is junior football player Troyer Morse. Troyer is a prominent leader on the football team and is a very energetic player. Troyer is leading the team in tackles and has the highest average of yards per carry. When asked about what Troyer is looking forward to this season he replied, “The next game, we are taking it week by week and I hope to see a lot of fans cheering us on at our future games.” As you know, we hired a new football coach and Troyer feels that new leadership has brought a new fire to the team.

Great to see a student athlete who is not apart of an organized sport. Clubs are a great way to stay active, way to go Sophia!
