Athletes Of The Month
Our male athlete of the month is Junior soccer player Kristian Hooker. Kristian is a starting striker for the Kadets and is proving to be a great leader for the team this year. With 5 goals and 8 assists, he is off to a killer start. Kristian is a new Kadet as of last year. He was originally a Woodland Park Panther and while attending school in Woodland Park he had the record for the most goals scored in a season and most goals scored in a game. Let me remind you that he achieved this goal when he was only a sophomore. When asked to describe Kristian’s behavior as a team leader, Calvin Yocum says,”He leads by example through hard work and constant intensity, leaving a model for other teammates to follow.” Kristian is a wonderful addition to our Kadet soccer team and seems to shine anywhere he goes.

Our female athlete of the month is cross country runner, Lilly Hamilton. She is the defending state champion in the 4x800m as well as a state qualifier in the 3200 and the 1600. She was also a part of the 4A State Champion cross country team. Lilly is an outstanding athlete and she brings a lot of experience to the table because she has been to state every year and feels very comfortable and focused in this high-pressure position. Lilly, when asked to describe herself in three words said, “dedicated, team player, and fun.” Lilly is this month’s showcased athlete because she is an amazing teammate, stellar athlete, and just a fun person to be around.
Good luck to Kristian and Lilly in the rest of their season! Go Kadets!

I think that Kristian was actually a freshman when he achieved the most goals scored in one season at Woodland Park. Either way, we are very happy to have you at AAHS Kristian!
