The Senior class of 2017 was demolished by the Junior class of 2018 in the “rigged” Powderpuff game. The Senior class will never feel the glory of victory as they will depart with a 0-2 record. Although it was a tough loss, the Seniors kept in great spirits and didn’t let this minor speed bump slow down their L17 year. The Junior class is making a statement as they enter the upper realm of the food chain, lead by softball star Amanda Smith who put up all 14 points on the board.

The mighty green, only scoring one touchdown, courtesy of yours truly, were under intense pressure. In the end, we just couldn’t handle the heat and had to leave the kitchen. Quarterback Morgan Rhein helped lead the Seniors’ offense with her precise passes and clean handoffs, yet even with her guidance, the offense fell short and was not able to execute. Defense wins the games, but in this case, the Seniors had a lack there of and left Rhein vulnerable to the Juniors’ vicious defense. “You know, I tripped over my own feet and face planted, but as long as you put in effort and have a good time, that’s all that matters. Go Green!” proudly stated Senior Natalie Sannes. The girls of the Senior class had some great hands that led to impressive passing plays and left the Juniors star struck; the seniors definitely took the “W” for most catches and yards gained per pass.  The 2017’s aren’t walking away with nothing—they’re walking away bonded, more class spirit than ever, and with the assurance that the green curse is alive and real!

The 2018’s were on fire during the game and didn’t let up one bit throughout the night. Led by football enthusiast and coach Max Raber, the Juniors’ offense was unstable with so much fluidity and, of course, those sneaky trick plays. The girls of the Junior class were determined and played as one unit when it came to putting the smack down on the rival class. A sense of swagger was noticeable on the field that night when the sea of red took the field, confident in their abilities. Their defense was a brick wall shutting the seniors down, and as for offense, needless to say they were a wrecking ball that crushed anything and everything on it’s way to the end zone.  “Being able to play against some of my favorite Seniors and then laugh in their face after they lost was definitely my favorite part about Powderpuff!” Junior Preston Moskal stated. She was humble in her victory but was also able to have fun and rag on her Senior friends for all their smack talk of winning. The Powderpuff game of the 2016-2017 school year was a success, and both teams walked away with a victory of some sort, remembering, “Fear the green because the curse is real!” (quoted directly from Taylor Rodriquez, Senior class of 2012, who also went 0-2 at Powderpuff).
