High school teens grew up on Disney classics like Finding Nemo, Cars, Toy Story and The Incredibles; this year at Cinemacon, Disney excited viewers by releasing a timeline of all future movies.

This year was a year full of many adventures for Walt Disney Studios with the releases of Cinderella, Inside Out, Ant-Man, and most recently, The Good Dinosaur. Disney’s not stopping there though; a live action Jungle Book, Finding Dory, The BFG and Toy Story 4 are just some of the few that are predicted to be premiered in the next 2 years.

Inside Out takes viewers into the mind of young Riley and witnesses how her personified emotions help control her brain. When Sadness touches a memory on accident, things that were once happy start to turn sad. The story follows Riley’s life as memories and everyday things turn sad, all while Joy and Sadness journey through the brain together trying to turn things happy again. Disney took a modern and current issue, depression, and creatively explained it in a way that family members of all ages can understand, all while presenting an adorable cartoon that touches the hearts of viewers.

Disney’s newest release, The Good Dinosaur, tells the tale of a lost dinosaur, Arlo, and his young human friend, Spot, and their prehistoric adventure. The asteroid that was supposed to hit earth and wipe out the dinosaurs missed, creating a world filled with dinosaurs, and Arlo’s family happens to be the farmers. After a water mishap, Arlo finds himself far away from his family and needing help from an unlikely friend, Spot. The two make many friends on their journey and find themselves in the adventure of a lifetime. Ashlie Steele, an Air Academy Junior, says, “I loved it! It had heartwarming moments and bits of humor, which made the perfect balance.”

Pixar’s second film of the year is leaving teens everywhere excited for the upcoming films. Steele states, “I’ve waited for Finding Dory for ages, and I can’t wait to watch the sequel to one of my favorite movies!”

Disney has confirmed a sequel of Finding Nemo with Finding Dory, and a fourth film to the Toy Story collection. Disney is tackling Roald Dahl’s children’s classic, The BFG, short for “Big Friendly Giant,” which will be released during the summer of 2016. Over the last 6 years, Disney has added 4 princesses and one queen to the Disney collection, and they plan to add another in the fall of 2016. The last Disney princess movie, Frozen, featured a sibling relationship as one of the main plot points, but the studio is now creating its first Pacific Islander princess, Moana, who the movie is titled after. Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson will be in this animated movie as well.

Not only is Disney planning on releasing animated movies like Finding Dory, Toy Story 4, and The BFG, but there are many live action films planned as well. Alice: Through the Looking Glass will be a sequel to the live action Alice in Wonderland that featured Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter, that should premier sometime before the end of the 2016 summer. Depp will be seen in one of his more iconic roles as well in the summer of 2017, as another Pirates of the Caribbean will debut with the title, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man Tells No Tales.  Another two live action films will also be released before the end of 2016, one being The Jungle Book and the other Beauty and the Beast.  Emma Watson is to play Belle, with Dan Stevens to play her beast; Ewan McGregor is going to be Lumiere, and Luke Evans is cast as Gaston. As Star Wars: The Force Awakens hits theaters this month, and in the spring of 2017, another will premiere as Episode VIII. Chris Pratt will be back for Guardians of the Galaxy 2 in the spring of 2017 as well.
