Throughout my young life, I have witnessed incessant cries or complaints about my Millennial Generation. Now to be fair I am about to make horrid generalizations about generations all the way around but a lot of the time this is how people feel. Whether it be that our “music is too loud and vulgar!” Or perhaps the classic “I am worried about the future of our world with these kids.” Albeit some of these critiques have merit considering some of the actions my fellow Millennials have partaken in. Whether it be an all nude concert from Miley Cyrus, an utter lack of common sense on social media, or music that barely even qualifies as so, I have questioned my Millennial brethren on more than one occasion. However, despite these negatives, some of the critiques we are receiving from older, “better” generations are unwarranted. Weren’t you the ones with the music that wasn’t appropriate? With your Rock n’ Rolls and your Elvis Presley? Also, isn’t it your generation that is cutting the lifespan of our species short due to utter ignorance of the fact that the burning fossil fuels raises the temperature of the Earth? But you’re right, our generation is the worst because of our tattoos, piercings, and foreign ideas of acceptance.

You’re also right about many political candidates that are alarmingly gaining popularity in the polls. Ben Carson? You are trying to tell me that a man whose main argument to vote for him is the fact that he is “not a politician” is rising in the polls? Have you people even heard him? He very candidly proclaimed that the prison system turns people gay because they go into it. Hmm. If that is the case then I guess High School turns people into ignorant beings. People go into high school, and become ignorant, so that means they are ignorant. The logic is flawless. Speaking of gays, Ben Carson is not a fan. That lets you a little into who he is as a person. Another ridiculous thing people are supporting is the idea that the current U.S. government is trying to take control of America and create a dictatorship with Barack Obama at the helm. This kind of thing is something you expect from the endless abyss of Netflix Documentaries, not a potential presidential candidate. The belief that the government is trying to oppress the American People and kill them is an idea that I have no comment on. Great choice in candidate.

For a generation that constantly complains about the fact that we do not do anything. You guys are the people that have literally done nothing about one of the most pressing issues we have ever faced as a human species. Climate Change. We are slowly murdering our planet and your generation has not done a single thing about it. Do you not see the obvious facts? New Orleans is basically going to be gone soon because of your lack of change (they kind of built a city below sea level but that’s none of my business). Maybe we need a sensible, non-politician, totally not crazy president like Ben Carson to lead the helm.

All I am saying is before you make rash statements regarding my age group, think of the problems you have yourselves. Remember to check in November 15th for more pessimistic rambling in R&B Slow Jamz.
