“Progressions”

As the world continues to spin and humanity continues to “progress,” the world spits out new trends everyday with about as much meaning as life itself. The first trend I wonder about is “vaping.” The point of inhaling water vapor undoubtedly infused with a large assortment of foreign chemicals is far beyond my comprehension. For what point is this done? To get “buzzed”? How about you grow up and smoke cigarettes like a real man because as far as we know, it probably has the same long term effects on your body.

The second “advancement” in our society that we live with every day is the censorship of sporting events. There is a reason American sports are number 1 and it is not because of the countless world-class athletes in our borders, but because of the fans being able to heckle the opposing team. Heckling epitomizes the American dream for a sports fan as nobody on the Earth wants to scream traitor into the face of Lebron James like a Cleveland Cavaliers Miami Heat fan. God forbid an opposing team has their feelings hurt by a fan’s cheer, wouldn’t want to have any home-field advantage!

Another “progression” this country has made is the belief that Global Warming is not real. Uh what? Are you blind? A vegetable perhaps? Maybe if you don’t believe in Global Warming you are just dead because that would be about the only viable excuse as to why you cannot see the blatantly obvious facts supporting the idea we are warming up and killing the Earth. But then again, it was a little chilly the other day, so those scientists are definitely wrong.

The last advancement we shall discuss is human made and has actually had a positive impact on the Earth. Finally, how refreshing. The internet. Oh how wonderful a thing that can access information for us at any time, that can provide entertainment for billions of people at one time, that can provide someone with access to the Jetstream Journal. I’m sure we couldn’t possibly ruin this. LOL NOPE. Sure enough, as fast as lightning, the internet has been quickly poisoned with loads of advertisements and pornographic images so graphic one often opts to have a surgery to go blind forever. On top of this, some members of the government are actually pushing to have the ability to censor the internet to stop the spread of negative feedback. Why not just become China? At this point we manufacture everything there and our rules will soon be similar, so why not just sell the United States and become a part of their country? For some reason the United Republic of China in America doesn’t have quite the same ring as the United States of America.

As time continues to pass, my worriment for the youth of today continues to grow. This occurs whether I’m looking at the profanities I see them spit out on social media, or the society around them providing an environment that makes it nearly impossible to succeed later on in life. Whatever the case, the many “advancements” in today’s world are really just horrible regressions, but hey, in the end, when we are all dead, it won’t matter anyway.
