After careful consideration, the United States Olympic Committee selected Boston, Massachusetts, to represent the 2024 Olympic and ParaOlympic bid. The city of Boston is overwhelmingly united in support of the bid because of the city’s passion for sport. With the 400 year anniversary of Boston’s founding fast approaching, the city is rallying behind a vision for an innovative future. Boston’s uniquely walkable layout with venues clustered around the Waterfront and University Precincts leverages the entire Boston City center as the Olympic Park, and we will put all of our campuses, public spaces and parks, boulevards and waterways to use in hosting the Games. Boston plans to use the entire city as the Olympic Park in order to display all that Boston truly has to offer. Boston’s unrivaled waterfront and cleanest urban harbor will add to the experience that the athletes around the world so rightly deserve. Innovation and youth are two qualities that the USOC seeks and Boston wholly embodies. The city would be able to attract people from around the country and host the most celebrated sporting event in the world. Not only do the Olympics mean everything to the athletes, but they are a symbol of hope for their country. What do the Olympics mean to you? Enjoy and Bid Boston. (http://www.2024boston.org/docs)
