“Beep, Beep, Beep” – that’s the sound of your alarm clock going off in the morning. Most people hate that noise because it is a sign that you have to get up and actually look presentable in a matter of minutes. If you’re like me, some helpful advice would be great to have to make the most of that time before you head out.

Do you pack your lunch in the morning? If your answer is yes, try packing your lunch before you go to sleep at night. Leave your empty lunch box on the counter, that way you won’t forget your premade lunch hanging out in the fridge. In addition, if you tend to forget your keys, set them on top of items that you use daily, such as a premade lunch, clothes, in your shoes, etc.

Perhaps have a little drawer separating the different kinds like mascaras, lipsticks, and eye shadows, making it easier to sort through and more well organized. Also, attempt to do your hair the night before. There are several tutorials online that tell you how to do overnight hairstyles including the sock bun, French braiding wet hair, and numerous types of curls. Similarly, if you take a shower in the morning, you could brush your teeth in the shower, so you don’t have to later.

A couple more simple tricks to help you get moving in the morning could be making a playlist. On your phone or iPod you could create a playlist that takes up a certain amount of time and when all the songs are over, your time to get ready is up. In addition, try keeping an annoying alarm clock in your room, or have it an odd spot like across the floor, making you get up to shut it off. Although not power saving, if you turn on all the lights it might help you wake up more. Even though these ideas may sound strange, it’s always worth a shot.

It may seem like a no-brainer, but choosing your clothes out may become effortless in the morning with a few easy steps, such as trying to pick outfits out the night before. If you like too many outfits, you could always use them for other days. Who knows –

before you know it, you could have a whole week’s worth of outfits lined up; perhaps try labeling the hangers with the days of the week. Moreover, check the weather before picking out clothes; that way, you aren’t too surprised when you wake up in the morning. Besides, choosing clothes seems like one of the hardest morning rituals for me, so just knowing that I have already laid them out makes time go by much smoother.

Whether it’s Monday or Friday, even the best of us have a hard time being ready fast. Before you start your day tomorrow, consider some of these morning short cuts to help you be prepared.
