40 Things to Do in Quarantine
It’s safe to say things are pretty weird right now. As schools are closed, concerts are postponed, and sporting events are canceled everyone, even those with no signs or symptoms of the virus, is advised to stay home during this global pandemic.
As the world reacts to the COVID-19, people across the world are staying home, social distancing, and quarantining as an effort to slow – and hopefully stop- the spread of coronavirus. Social distancing an essential way to protect yourself and others from the coronavirus, and help flatten the curve of cases of COVID-19. Just remember, you are not alone, the world is going through this together.
Although staying home is necessary during this time, it means people have found themselves with a lot of time on their hands. This has lead to boredom and utter craziness.
“What do I do now?” some may wonder. Well, this may help. Here are 40 things to do while in quarantine
- Clean your room
- FaceTime your grandparents: They’re probably just as bored as you and are going crazy too.
- Complete a puzzle: The more pieces the better! Feeling risky? Crossword puzzle! Even more risky? Rubix Cube!
- Learn calligraphy. YouTube can help.
- Download Duolingo, or a similar app, and learn a language you don’t already know
- Delete unwanted pictures on your camera roll. Time to save storage!
- Look at pictures of puppies–enough said.
- Learn how to cook: Cookies! Chicken! Pasta! We want it all!
- Meditation coloring books: They are not just for kids!
- Make a list of things you are grateful for
- Cut your hair: No one will know
- Dye it too: No one will see
- Teach your pet to do tricks: Don’t have one? Well, you’re out of luck.
- Declutter your drawers
- See how many words you can type per minute
- Go a day using your non-dominant hand, even brushing your hair and teeth. It will be pure frustration
- Start a blog: It can be about anything, Cats, Coronavirus, Whatever!
- Knit or Crochet
- Try on all your clothes and make a pile of the ones you want to get rid of
- Binge-watch Netflix shows
- Write a short story or get started on a novel
- Indoor scavenger hunt
- Learn to play an instrument lying around your house
- Open every email in your inbox: may take longer than quarantine
- Hang out with your friends with Skype, Zoom, FaceTime, etc.
- Reflect on yourself and what you want to improve about yourself in the future
- Find that missing sock
- Make a flyable paper airplane: May give you 2nd-grade nostalgia
- Stretch. Get that flexibility. Learn to do a split.
- Learn a dance: belly dancing, hip hop, ballet.
- Go get tan: Unless you live in Colorado where the snows still coming down. Fake tan
- Ordering takeout from your favorite restaurant is still just as delicious.
- Make a TikTok
- Bake a cake
- Bond with your family (Disclaimer! They may drive you crazy)
- Draw some cute chalk art to make someones day
- Listen to music totally out of your comfort zone
- Join an Instagram live
- Watch the news
- SLEEP- we need it
