As winter approaches and snow starts to fall, the hockey team begins to gear up. Grab your posters and get ready to cheer the Air Academy High School boys hockey team on.

The boys hockey team is ready to work and play hard.

“Our athletes train on and off the ice. We do a lot of weight lifting, calisthenics and cardio. Combined with a healthy diet, this helps keep athletes free of injury,” explained Andrew Marshall Advanced, head coach.

All it takes is motivation and dedication to be able to achieve the goals the athlete looks forward to reaching.

Coaches are exited to watch their athletes thrive in this hockey season. The coaches hope to see every athlete excel in their skills and to try new things and get out of their comfort zone.

“I enjoy coaching hockey because I feel it’s a way of giving a little back to the game that has given me so much. Being part of a hockey team is special achievement not many get to enjoy,”  Marshall said.

Like most coaches the hockey coaches look for a coach-able athlete and one who is open to try new things and can leave all their worries outside the “playing field.”

“Playing hockey has always given me an amazing feeling that I can’t find anywhere else. Having the school watch me as a make saves and skate out on the ice is an unforgettable feeling” said junior Jakob Grebe.

A majority of the athletes agreed that hockey helps them release energy and helps them stay on track with their life. These hockey athletes keep the same headset they need in the game in their daily life to remember what they need to do and focus on.

Athletes are ready to get out there on the ice and represent the AAHS hockey team. The players are ready to have their school watch them in the most unforgettable moments on the ice. The athletes also love the challenges that comes with hockey. The athletes are exited to grow as a player and get better at their skills. Even more exiting is the big games these athletes will be facing this year.

All AAHS students be ready to bundle up and go attend these big games to support the boys hockey team.
