April Fools: A Joke of a Month
As of April second, Seniors have a total of 30 days left in high school if the check-out date is May 14th. This tally does not include half days, AP Exams, and other senior events that leave seniors excused from class.
To be 100% honest, the months of April and May are more of a blow off than the rest of senior year. I plan on attending all of three classes, maybe four, over the course of April. The week of the 9th, there are three half days, where class does not even start until 12. Will I be going to class?
Absolutely not.
Counting the math class I changed into when I decided AP Stats was too hard, my electives that are done (as the yearbook is published and The Jetstream Journal has a lonely 2 issues remaining), and my two AP classes that are scrambling to review all that is left before the exam, my schedule is somewhat of a joke. I have found the perfect schedule: my silver days contain all my AP Classes in the morning, leaving me with the option of heading home at lunch, and my blue days include three classes that I could do all the work at home, or sleep through.
It is a sad spring, you see. I love learning, but I no longer have the drive or the care to come to school or to even try when I do. But, I suppose that comes with our upcoming schedule for Seniors. After Spring Break ends, there is a full week of school, and then the chaos starts. The next week is an easy 5 days when three of them as late start days (10,11,12th of April,) and class doesn’t begin until 12. That means classes are about 40 minutes long. What is the point of even going?! To top that off, prom week follows, featuring Senior Breakfast/Service day (more like no school for seniors!!), and then that Friday there is actually no school!
The two weeks after prom seems to calm the madness down, but only to be greeted with a swarm of AP tests for the the 7th to the 18th of May.
This chaotic schedule of exams not only falls later than it does normal, it falls right on graduation. So, sorry all you AP Stats students: you can make the decision to take it or not!
But I guess that just leaves more mayhem for the last 6 weeks of school. That is it for us seniors!
One and a half months of pure havoc left of high school.
Whitney Moran here. If I was asked to describe myself in less than 5 minutes, to say I would have a challenge would be a stretch. I am a Varsity lacrosse...
