For hundreds of years, Sasquatch legends have been blurring the lines between reality and fantasy. With more and more evidence surfacing, it is becoming harder not to believe. For centuries, scientists have been compiling evidence on the 6ft to 10ft ape-man. Archeologists have even found caves where the paintings depict an ape-man, most likely Sasquatch. There have been several eye witness accounts, some even from our own peers.
One day, Mikey McGuire and Kassady Huffman went on a hike in the Manitou Mountains, roughly two years ago, mid-July. “I was walking through the woods when I heard something like a bear, but when it came out of the woods I realized it was bipedal!” says Mikey. When questioned, Kassady Huffman describes the giant bipedal animal with brown fur and red eyes. The two have since never returned to this location. Along with Mikey and Kassady’s experience, there have been other eye witness accounts, which have led the park to put up a “Big Foot Xing” sign due to the numerous reports of Big Foot sightings.

Maddy Flicker is a true believer in Sasquatch and when asked why, she responded, “Because there are many places around the world that have not been explored and there are possible places that they can be.” A member of her own family has found concrete evidence. One day, Maddy’s father was hunting in the mountains and came across a large foot print, one too big to be an average animal or human footprint. Jake Vargas, along with Maddy Flicker, believes in Sasquatch. “There have been too many reports for all of them to be false,” says Jake. He also agrees that there are a lot of unexplored places around the world.

Contrary to Maddy and Jake’s belief, Kate Thatcher, Blake Becco, and Heather Mohrman do not believe that Sasquatch is real. “I don’t believe in Sasquatch because it is just a fairy tale told to scare children and the evidence, to me, isn’t very conclusive,” says Kate. Blake doesn’t believe in sasquatch because “crazy people have been trying to find it forever and we would’ve seen it by now.” Heather Mohrman says, “I don’t believe in Sasquatch because I have never encountered one and neither have most of my friends. I also don’t believe that a man can be so hairy and not be spotted.” The legend of Sasquatch holds people at the opposite ends of the spectrum.

There has even been a Sasquatch sighting on the US Air Force Academy. A Cadet, during his basic training, was in his room and talking to his roommate about their upcoming camp out when he heard a sound like a women screeching her head off. When asking his roommate if he had heard the noise he responded saying that it was the “local bigfoot.” His roommate proceeded to tell him that his buddy saw a big hairy “human” drinking at the local lake. When it saw his friend watching it, it stood up, turned away and walked into the forest.

Along with many interesting documentations, there has been an incident where Sasquatch has killed. Fred Jancat was attacked and killed in Maine. The attacker is unknown but his death was blamed on an 8ft male individual with a disfigured ape-face who was non English speaking. “The male individual didn’t stop grunting until Fred’s skull was shattered, he then retreated into the woods,” says Jim “Jimboni” Archilli. In 2000, bones were found in Klamath. The “human” remains would be that of the tallest man in the world. Laid out, the individual stood 9’9″. The femur bone alone measured 4’1″.

Don’t be fooled; there isn’t just one Sasquatch; there are thousands of them scattered across the globe. Even though no one can know for sure, BFRO* estimates that there are roughly 2,000-6,000 Sasquatches in North America, including all of Canada and Alaska.
