Super Bowl 51, one of the best Super Bowls of all time. The New England Patriots made the biggest comeback of Super Bowl history and defeated the Atlanta Falcons 34-28 in overtime. The game was definitely a nail biter for both Patriots and Falcons fans.

In the beginning, the game looked like it was going to be a blowout and by halftime, the Falcons had already scored 21 points while the Patriots had only scored 3. Lady Gaga performed at halftime and in no time, the players took the field again to finish off the game. The third quarter started with another touchdown for the Falcons; at this point Falcons fans were pretty confident, but the Patriots weren’t willing to give up. With two minutes left in the third quarter, the Patriots finally scored a touchdown and after that they slowly began to catch up to the Falcons. By the end of the game, the teams were tied and went into the first overtime of Super Bowl history. The Patriots won the coin toss, got the ball, drove down to score, and won the game!

Patriots fans were ecstatic, their comeback was unbelievable. Tom Brady, the Patriots quarterback, described it as “the night he’ll never forget.” On the other hand, the Falcons and their fans were devastated. The Atlanta Falcons have never won a superbowl; to get so close and have it stripped away from you is heartbreaking. Matt Ryan, the Falcons quarterback, said, “We made a few mistakes, and ultimately when you’re playing a really good football team like New England, those mistakes end up costing you.” Despite their distress, the Falcons still have a young team so they maintain hope for the future.

The Patriots broke numerous records and essentially made history that night. Bill Belichick and Tom Brady became the first coach and quarterback to earn 5 Super Bowl rings. Despite the phenomenal performance, many spectators couldn’t care less about the football portion of the Super Bowl. Countless fans are in it for the commercials, and while sports fans reminisce on the greatest teams of all time, the commercial fans reminisce on some of the greatest commercials of all time. Here are some of this year’s best:

Buick

This commercial features the Carolina Panthers quarterback, Cam Newton, in a Peewee football game. Cam steps on the field and dominates, he towers over the kids, stiff arms three of them, and throws a perfect pass that shoots a kid into the endzone. All of this to show that the old Buicks are new and improved.

This “Super Bowl Babies” commercial is probably one of the most adorable commercials you’ll ever see. It features toddler versions of famous football legends including, Mike Ditka, Michael Irvin, Vince Lombardi, Joe Namath, Bill Belichick, Marshawn Lynch, and Von Miller. These cuties are “born for greatness,” conceived with glory (literally), and guaranteed to make you laugh.

Kia

Melissa McCarthy, the “eco warrior,” travels around the world trying to help the environment, but she soon realizes it isn’t so easy. Each time she tries to help she ends up in a near death experience. By the end she learns that “it’s hard to be an eco warrior, but it’s easy to drive like one,” that’s why she drives her Kia Niro.

Tide

Rob Gronkowski, the New England Patriots tight end, was too injured to play in the Super Bowl, but he could still star in some commercials. In this commercial, Gronkowski owns his own dry cleaner. Instead of using Tide to get the stains out of the sleeves, he decides to rip them off and create bro tanks for his customers, who are not pleased.
