Every year, it is a tradition around the world to dream of new goals that you would like to achieve in the new year. This tradition has been going on before it was even called a resolution; it is a firm decision to do or not to do something, almost like goal setting for yourself. Below are the top resolutions that people are making for 2017, some looking incredibly similar to what we have seen in the past.

  1. Get Healthy

This resolution was the top researched among all other resolutions. It grew last year by nearly 14%. This doesn’t necessarily surprise anyone, this resolution has been at the top of people’s priorities for years past; in the beginning of January, we see the gym population increase dramatically. We all long to stay fit and healthy in the new year to feel good about ourselves and to stay focused on the other resolutions we would like to obtain in the upcoming year. Although it is hard to keep up their motivation and their enthusiasm going for more than a week, many are still attempting to reach their goal.

  1.  Get Organized

When leaving the old year behind, many of us come out struggling, striving to reach the finish line and long for a new year. We often become messy at the end of a year, not how it started off at all; we start off strong, but by the beginning of February, drawers and desktops are beginning to get cluttered. Getting organized requires motivation to leave past ways behind and to step into the new year as a new you.

  1. Living Life to the Fullest

Often times, we have dreams and aspirations that we see ourselves achieving, only our dreams get put on hold, and we say, “Well, let me get this done first and then I will reach for the stars.” Many are now making their resolution to make this the year that they will not be “put on hold” any longer and will strive for their dreams. This new year, 2017, I challenge you to live freely, experiencing everything that life has to offer.

  1. New Hobbies

The popular saying “New Year, New Me” holds true when many are trying to leave behind old ways and to discover new ones. 2017 is the year when people want to discover what else they truly enjoy doing besides the stuff they have already encountered within the previous year.

  1. Spend Less and Save More

No matter what the age, people all around the world are looking to stop spending their money and to start saving it. Ultimately, towards the end of the year, being so close to the holidays, others are realizing how much we are spending instead of saving. This resolution has also been around for some years, which should probably tell us that we actually should start to spend less and to save more.

Through all of these resolutions, there is a running theme screaming to the people who walk this earth: life is too short to not accomplish the things we forget about. People are wanting to take the time in 2017 to do the things they have always wanted to do: travel, read, discover new things that they enjoy. I challenge you this new year to grasp the things you have been dreaming of; this is the year to achieve.
