Snow! You know what that means, time for holiday songs. Even though some radio stations started playing holiday songs in October, I think that right after Thanksgiving is the perfect time to start listening to these winter theme songs. So here is a list of a few of best songs for this time of the year:

  • Twelve Days of Christmas: What a classic, such a fun song to sing. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oyEyMjdD2uk
  • The Christmas Can Can– Straight No Chaser: This hilarious acapella mash-up is great for everyone, especially if you love shopping! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7E-47VmFopE
  • Dreidle, Dreidle, Dreidle: If you went to public school, you probably learned this song in music class, and you also probably still remember most of the lyrics. Also, fans of the show “South Park” know a different version of the song.
  • Feliz Navidad– Jose Feliciano: Growing up with a Hispanic family, this song is a must have for the holiday season, but even if you aren’t Hispanic, this is a fun song for the season. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RTtc2pM1boE
  • Happy Holidays– Andy Williams: Absolutely love this song, it’s so nostalgic and upbeat. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MhShYpOMENw
  • Frosty the Snowman– The song is great and so is the movie. Nothing quite says winter like a singing snowman! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pmuJDmjq-xQ
  • Let It Snow– Dean Martin: Snow! In Colorado, winter means snow, so this song is a must. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o2uvtl-1V70
  • Baby, It’s Cold Outside: Whether it’s the original, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7MFJ7ie_yGU or one of the remakes,  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6bbuBubZ1yE this song is an absolute classic.
  • Hanukkah Song– Adam Sandler: This song is absolutely hilarious and great, (but probably not appropriate for anyone under high-school age). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9320tG1bQaY
  • Winter Wonderland– Dean Martin: This song sounds like winter, it is so happy and fun. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lkFP0VwpPRY
  • Santa Baby– Eartha Kitt: Originally recorded in 1954, this classic is great for any girl who loves material things, or just loves good, old songs. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jFMyF9fDKzE
  • Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer: Once again, this song goes along with a movie of the same name, both of which came out in 1964. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mfWH2AVSrww
  • It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas: Whether it’s the Michael Buble, Bing Crosby, or Johnny Mathis version, this song is very soothing and nice to listen to. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ASUGzePWx4o https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uGBie5pT9nw https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GcZAwoip5aY
  • The Grinch Song: Mr. Grinch! This song is so fun and comical. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZgP0aUKlmNw
  • The Christmas Song– Nat King Cole: This song reminds me so driving around town with the radio on and searching for the best Christmas lights in town. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=89gVQvFV7hQ
  • Jingle Bell Rock– Bobby Helms: This song was recorded in 1957! Such a fun song to listen and sing along with. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=itcMLwMEeMQ
  • Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy– Tchaikovsky: This song is known as one of the most popular songs in the ballet, The Nutcracker. There are no words, just a nice band arrangement. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wz_f9B4pPtg
  • Blue Christmas– Elvis Presley: A true classic, it’s not really an upbeat song, but it’s still great for this time of the year. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uwfz5mMLSDM
  • Carol of the Bells– Pentatonix: This version is different because it is acapella, but it is so amazing! Highly reccomended. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WSUFzC6_fp8
  • I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus– Jackson 5: This song is so innocent and cute. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PITCmngiMfA
  • Where Are You Christmas– Faith Hill: This is defitely more off a sad song abou the lack of holiday spirit, but it’s good still. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=neDTNYlEWIo
  • Peace on Earth/Little Drummer Boy– David Bowie and Bing Crosby: Bing Crosby died shortly after this was recorded and David Bowie died just this year. It’s a classic and this song is very creative and I really love it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ADbJLo4x-tk
