PROM

PROM

Exactly 7 days until the magical night they call PROM, so make sure you have your dates, dresses, and dancing shoes ready to roll. Along with the hours spent getting ready and the fabulous dance itself, there is also pictures and dinner to enjoy. Drum roll please…. this year Air Academy’s prom will be held at the Cheyenne Mountain Resort on April 22nd from 8-11pm. Our student council is going for a very earthy and nature type theme, titled ENCHANTED FOREST, since after all, prom is on earth day.

Time is very important on prom night because you never seem to have enough of it, so having a restaurant that’s close to the venue is a life saver and gives you room to breathe. Be sure to make your reservations now, walking in with a big group on a popping Saturday night is NOT a good idea. Lastly, when it comes to groups make sure that they’re not overly large or else you’re going to have a hard time fitting anywhere; remember that you’ll see everyone at the dance, so if you can’t have dinner with all your friends it’s not the end of the world. Below are a couple of highly recommended restaurants near the Cheyenne Mountain Resort, and if you click on the link it’ll take you to the website where there are more options as well a way to contact them.

1.) Mountain View Restaurant

2.) Walters Bistro

3.) Flatirons

4.) Duca’s Neapolitan Pizza

As some say, “pictures are worth a thousand words,” your pictures won’t be perfect unless you have the best background to complete them. A couple tips for your pictures: let your parents take as many as they want because they’re going to anyways, take pictures with everyone, and take funny ones too, don’t just take the typical prom pics because I’m telling you those won’t get the most likes on Instagram. Here are some hot spot locations that will wow all your followers after they see your prom pictures.

1.) The Broadmoor

2.) Garden of the Gods

3.) Old Colorado City

4.) A sketchy looking alleyway with cool brick walls

5.) Or a field with some nice trees and flowers to follow the earth theme(:

I can tell you now that after all that dancing you’re going to want a little snack to tide you over until you get to after prom. My best advice for you is to stop at the Kum and Go and grab a milkshake, cookies and cream or birthday cake(being my favorite before,) you go crush it in bowling, right by Summit Peak.

Most of all, be sure to enjoy and soak up everything that prom has to offer you that night. Pose like you’re a super model at pictures, laugh and eat good food at dinner, dance like no one is watching, beat your date at laser tag, and most importantly just have a blast. Happy Prom and don’t forget to thank your fellow Student Council members for putting it all together!
