Vacations are always full of new experiences and adventure. Although, sometimes you find yourself sitting in your hotel room with nothing to do. Don’t get me wrong; where you stay is part of your vacation experience, but why stay in a fancy and touristy hotel that doesn’t give you the local experience? Not only this, but tourists usually stay on the resort property, which does not give them the full effect of the country they are in.

REI adventures has a variety of action packed trips across the world for the whole family. No matter what REI trip you are on, everyday that you are on vacation, you will have fun, action filled adventures.

The adventures you go on vary on the country you go to and the level of difficulty that the trip is. REI has ranked the difficulty of all their trip on a scale going from 1-5; for example, a level five trip is the Everest Base Camp Trek. Most of the trips that REI has are aimed towards teens and adults. However, every country that has an REI adventure trip usually has a trip that is for a family with smaller children also.

Many of the adventures take you through beautiful mountains, jungles, and beaches. These adventures include; sailing, hiking, biking, kayaking, snorkeling, paddle boarding, and fishing. During all of these adventures, you find new and wonderful things along the way. This may seem like a lot of activity for one trip, but it is all worth it.

Hiking is beautiful no matter where you are, especially if you are in another country. On the Thailand multisport trip, travelers hike all day through the mountains to villages where the spend the night in locals homes. This gives the traveler the ability to experience the local lifestyle for themselves.
Meals are another great part about the REI adventures. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner on the trips are all prepared and created for the tourists to get a true experience of the culture of the country they are in. On the Thailand multisport trip, there is a cooking class at the very end of the trip. While in this cooking class, you learn how to make Tom Yum Gai soup (shown in the picture to the left), Green Curry, Pad Thai, including many other delicious and authentic foods.

The guides on all REI adventure are locals who grew up in that country and know everything there is to know about where you are. They are always full of energy and are excited to show every traveler their homeland. Not only this, but they are constantly teaching you new things while on every adventure. Along with the amazing guides, every REI trip has small groups of only 10-15 people. Because of the small group numbers, the travelers are able to connect and meet new people from all around the United States of America.
